This was our eighth cruise. It was our first on Norwegian and our first visit to Bermuda.
Overall it was a great trip. We only had one bad day at sea where the ship was moving a lot. You could always find something good to eat in the dining room for lunch or dinner and room service in the morning was always on time.
We should have done the air ourselves. You can fly out of Atlanta to Orlando for almost nothing on Air Tran or Delta. I am not sure why we let the cruise line do the air. They gave us an 8:35pm flight home. We had to kill 12 hours in Orlando before our flight. We rented a car and went to Downtown Disney to do some shopping.
We only had one other complaint. Because this was an Easter cruise there were about 40 kids on board. It appeared that Norwegian had absolutely no supervised kids program. They ran around on the ship in gangs on 10-20 and destroyed any room they entered. It was almost impossible to use the pools because of the actions of the kids.
Our cabin was great. This was the first time we stayed in a suite. The room had a queen sized bed, a dining area with a table and four chairs, a living room area with a couch and two chairs, a huge walk in closet, a marble everything bathroom, and the largest balcony we have ever had. The balcony was large enough that it came with two chaise lounge chairs, a table and two chairs, and believe it or not an umbrella to create shade. We had breakfast delivered every morning of the cruise and it was nice having a real table and chairs to sit on and eat instead of using the bed like on previous cruises. Each of the suites was named. Ours was the Shangri-La. All I could think about was the television show Frasier.
We only made it to two of the shows. We always try to make it to the comedian/magician shows and the passenger talent shows. These were both very funny. I can't tell you about the production shows because we never made it to them.
The food was good. Their chicken and fish dishes were always great and according to the people we ate with their beef dishes were always horrible. The waiter always made recommendations at dinner. If you strayed from his recommendations you were usually disappointed. He never recommended a dish other then fish or chicken. The waiter and busboy were friendly and happy at dinner but at lunch that was another story. All lunches were regular seating so you had your same waiter but you might get a different busboy. Everyday for lunch we got a different busboy who was the rudest person I have ever met on a cruise ship besides some passengers.
Bermuda was beautiful. It had some amazing beaches that seemed to go on forever and ever or they were just little small coves. Bermuda was also the cleanest island I have ever been to. There was no garbage or homes that looked like they were ready to fall over. Everyone's yard was well maintained and trimmed. One odd thing we noticed was the fact that everyone had centipede grass and not Bermuda.
Bermuda is a place we would love to visit again during a warmer time. The ocean was just a little too cold to really enjoy.
